With the new forum, it is impossible for me to reach you in your post about how to "Get required skills for all ships" and I can't seem to find this post with the search function... I realized after trying your db query, that the orca for example is not returned or that skills that are not ship related like electronics for example were not returned either... I know you're not my personal army, but I was wondering if you could give me any clues about what I could look into to get the infos I need Thanks for reading I'll be checking this post here for any answers!
I would much appreciated if you could post the link of the mentioned SQL query.

UCassandra wrote:I will reiterate what every one else says about this being a totally awesome program. Cannot even begin to imagine playing Eve without it.
Now on to my question.
Every time I open EveMon I get this annoying error message (I have substituted x's for the actual account number):
An error occurred while querying the character list for account xxxxxxx (no characters). An error occurred while querying the character list for account xxxxxxx (no characters). More notifications are available. Check character monitor for more information.
Is there any way to turn that little message window off? Or at least turn off the supremely irritating popping sound that it makes every 2 seconds?
Thx in advance
Yes. Look in Tools>Options>Notifications and disable the "API problem".
Btw, this issue will be resolved in next release. |

DJB16 wrote:my main 3 gripes with eve mon atm are these:
1 the skill bar at the bottom it interferes with every game i open if eve mon is not minimized and also affects some websites when "above" the eve mon window so to have evemon in the background is a pain in the ass coz the bar shows through and then "drags" on websites is there a way to disable this bar from showing up?
2 the amount of time it takes eve mon to start it takes approximately 30 seconds to a full minute to start eve mon even if opened before in a windows session (ie not restarting windows/pc) i have 3 chars loaded and 2 accounts loaded all 3 chars have plans made (2 plans are over 2 years and 5 are 1 year or more long total plans i think i have 20) it still took along time to load when first installed on my pc after a full reformat and reinstall of windows (windows xp home SP3 fully up to date / intel duel core / gegorce 240gt / 2 gig ram)
3 skill planner speed after adding approximately 20-30 skills the planner window starts slows down considerably (adding 40 it REALLY slows down) and for some reason slows down my computer (comp details above) also adding remap points enhances this problem (when i say skills i dont mean per different skill ie targeting then caldari frig i mean caldari frig 1-4 then another skill to 4 etc)
other than these 3 gripes i find eve mon INVALUABLE
1. It's GDI+ issue, can't do anything about it. Some user reported that GC drivers updating fixed the issue.
2. On my machine EVEMon starts in no longer than 5 sec (5 accounts, 12 toons). Apparently your HDD is really slow.
3. Consider chopping your plan into smaller ones. Having all in one, is counter-productive as you figured.

The thing is that it does crash but not on all users (like me for example). Still can't determine the cause as crash reports don't reveal the blamer.
The only thing that is known is that it crashes when EVEMon updates a monitor. Which one? Don't know. Have to be either Employment History, Contracts or EVE Mail/Notifications (cause those where added or refactored in the last release). So if anyone can pin point the monitor in blame, then we'll have something to start with.
Fact is that without me being able to reproduce the crash, it's difficult to debug it. |

Fozzy Dorsai wrote:My notification of contracts completed or expired doesn't seem to clear out like, for instance, orders do. When I get a note that a certain list of orders completed, I can x out the notification and only orders from after that point show up in later notifications. But with contracts they just keep coming. I think last notification I got it said that I had about 325 that were completed. Any idea what setting I might have wrong? Completed contracts are divided into two categories.
1. Finished 2. Need Attention
The 'Finished' ones disappear from the notification once they are notified. But those that "Need Attention' will continuesly show up and bug you till you log ingame and go 'Delete' them, thus 'finishing' them. Pretty nasty game mechanic and gave me quite a headache when I was implementing it. |

While in the process of generating the EVEMon data files for the Inferno 1.0 expansion and due to changes made to the EVE DB by CCP, the generated data files are incompatible with the current and any previous EVEMon release.
In this shade of light, I took the opportunity to make further changes to EVEMon code that handles the data files.
So, the Inferno data files will be released with EVEMon 1.7.0 (scheduled for June 10th 2012). Again, those data files will be incompatible with any previous release. So if you want to be up to date, you will have to upgrade to 1.7.0. |

As for the logs, I see it as unnecessary as there is no value to keep track and litter the HDD with text files. Never the less, thank you for your comments. |

On the Linux/MacOS front. Looks like Wine 1.4.1 has finally made its way in fully supporting .NET 4 and EVEMon 1.7.2 has been tested and runs on it successfully (proof). Edit: ( EVE forum) When you get to WineHQ site remove 'amp;' from the address to navigate to the proper page. |

And for the record, scrapping the cache file doesn't violate the EULA as it doesn't change anything on the client. When/If CCP adds that to the EULA, we'll see to it that we get in line.

Old version -very old by now- allowed +7 implants to be added and calculated for training time.
Please fix for other newbies with this booster. CCP API does not provide info for any attribute booster. We asked about that 3 times when the boosters where introduced but... I just checked with my characters and everything looks OK by me. Just to give some more insight on the way EVEMon calculates the total SP of a character, it summarized the skill points of all known skills plus the currently training skill. So you can cross-reference that EVEMon is showing the correct SP by checking out the CharacterSheet of the character in question via the API Tester feature. |

One issue I have: It would be nice if the overview tab showed a countdown of the current skill queues, instead of showing how much time you can add to the current skill queues. I'm actually forced to use EVEHQ in conjunction with this just so I don't have to work out the math for 8 diff. characters in order to figure out when each next training expiration will occur.
Another issue I'm having: Skills will not properly sort by duration. It seems certain skills get scattered when sorting this way; I'll see a 1 day 12 hour skill clumped in with the 7 hour skills for instance. 1. Tools>Options>Main Window>Overview group section has all the available settings for the overview. 2. Probably skills have other skills as prerequisite. |

It so happens that I just finished coding EVEMon's own version of Jognu's YamlToSql. The difference with Jognu's version is that EVEMon's has also the ability to parse and insert the new certificates data into EVE's SDE DB.
But my work is far from over. This was just 'Step 1'.
Step 2 includes the coding of the generator for the 'mastery.xml' file (I'm renaming it so it's not the same with the old certificates file and have conflicts with older EVEMon versions) that EVEMon needs.
And Step 3 includes the coding and the designing of the ISIS browser that will be shown in EVEMon's Skill Planner.
Due to the fact that my time is limited I can't say when the final product will hit EVEMon but it will eventually. |

Yes. It's caused by CCP's API feed (SkillQueue). Instead of supplying the correct 'startSP' it supplies the same as the 'endSP' causing the "100% Done" bug. If you monitored the EVE Technology Lab forum lately you would had noticed that the API feeds have a lot of issue which CCP doesn't care (so much) to fix.
You can see it in action for yourself via EVEMon's API Tester in Tools. |

When looking at a skill plan for a character, have a "Total SP gained from Start to Finish of Plan" included in the little info display at the bottom of the window, alongside total training time, isk required, number of skills.
Would help me, and probably others. 1. Click on the Plan queue preferences icon and enable the 'Estimated Skill Point Total' column. 2. Subtract first from last. 3. Profit??? |

We have released EVEMon 1.8.9 with data files for Kronos 1.0.
Data files extension has been changed due to CDN restrictions that distributes our data files. EVEMon versions prior of 1.8.9 will not be able to get updates for the Kronos 1.0 and of future data files. |

Thanks for all the hard work!!!!!!!! The snapshots contain updated data files. You obviously overwrite the existing installed EVEMon files with those from the snapshot but you didn't overwrite the data files.
How to have EVEMon snapshot version running side by side with the latest stable one: - Download EVEMon snapshot version. - Extract the EVEMon folder contained in the snapshot version on a different folder than the one you have the stable EVEMon version installed. DO NOT overwrite the existing files in the stable EVEMon version installed folder. - Locate the 'settings.xml' file that your stable EVEMon version is using (open your stable EVEMon version, go to Tools>Options>General and click on the 'EVEMon Data Directory' button). - Copy the 'settings.xml' file inside the folder where you extracted the snapshot EVEMon version. - Start the snapshot EVEMon version. - DO NOT update data files if prompt.

However, messing around with the %appdata%/EVEMon/settings.xml file narrowed down the problem to the clock check for me.
If I set /Settings/updates/checkTimeOnStartup to false, the EveMon window actually shows up when I start the program.
Maybe something wrong in the way the popup opens, my wild guess would be it's opened a bit early in the app lifecycle and something isn't fully initialized yet, which an earlier version of the .NET ecosystem didn't mind so much ?
Hope it helps anyone who's stuck with no EveMon.
Also, regarding notifications and Windows 10, yes, I am now extremely well notified when a skill completes, or a planet finishes producing its shinies.
Looks like there is indeed something weird going on if your system clock is out of sync with EVEMon. I'll investigate it further when time permits.

Thanks for getting back. I didn't replied cause I couldn't reproduce it locally. AV seems the primary suspect as they lock the file they are scanning. When EVEMon tries to parse a notification text it compiles a parser and puts it in the temp folder. Usually the AV programs detect that and try to scan the file locking it, thus EVEMon is unable to access it, thus resulting to crash.
Never the less I will add a guard on that code section to gracefully handle those cases. Even if the compilation of the parser fails EVEMon falls back to an internal backup parser, so there is no harm done. The only downsize would be that your EVEMon may not have the latest improvements of the parser, until the next release.
Edit: setting an exception in the AV program for EVEMon may fix the issue. |

@Jaantrag @The Ginger Sith What is weird with your issue is that EVEMon should not generate a file in Temp folder when compiling the parser. I have deliberately specified in code that the compilation should be done in memory. And from my testings no file is generated. So beats me why in your cases a file is been put in the Temp folder. Could the AV program do that? Personally I don't know. |

Oh no.^^ I am not complaining just said it because maybe there could have been a bug. It is not really a game- (or programm-) breaking thing so no need to work on that. This indicator doesn't show up if you are monitoring your market orders even with notifications turned on. It was added as an additional warning (thus why it's orange) to the market entrepreneurs out there. Personally I believe we should keep it even with the notifications turned off. It doesn't hurt to be informed. |

Yeap. It's the parser allright. Have no clue why it compiles a copy to the disk. The code says specifically to the compiler to do it in memory.

So I have no idea why this has just started to happen on my comp I've changed nothing... Try this link: https://api.eveonline.com/server/ServerStatus.xml.aspx with IE. If you can navigate successfully then you should be OK. EVE Online about a month ago got a new certificate. The one you have is an old one.

Angelique Duchemin wrote:How about adding a way to simulate injectors?
Evemon has a lot of focus on time and its relations to your attributes or implants but not so much on fixed skillpoint numbers.
I would like a way for me to add injectors into a skillplan and then have it highlight the progress of the injector.
Preferably working like the remap points but with a selectable number of injectors. Wait for version 3. It's already implemented in another way. |

When I'm trying to run/re-download it. It's a false positive.
The reason is, that in EVEMon we use an on the fly code compiler that downloads code from our repo, compile it to an EVE notification text parser to parse the result returned from the API. We done it this way, so we can update the parser on the fly and give you more parsed notification texts as soon as we figure out how they should be parsed.

Just dl EVEMon from BC and installed it locally. Everything checks out fine. I have no idea why you guys have issues. Check with your anti-virus. They usually cause problems due to false positive detection.
P.S. In the OP is a direct dl link to get EVEMon from the repo. Try that. |

The problem lies with the AccessMask. Don't use for EVEMon an API key where ALL endpoints are selected. EVEMon doesn't use them all. Create an EVEMon specific API key by going to 'File > Add API Key... ' in EVEMon, click on 'EVEMon features' and click on the link of 'Basic Features' or 'Advanced Features' according to what you want to use EVEMon for. |

The problem lies with the addition of the Clones endpoint in the XML API, which has an access mask that exceeds the current EVEMon limit. Putting it simpler, any API Key will work with EVEMon as long as you don't select the Clones. Of course this is fixed in EVEMon v3-RC3.
Even the API Management website had a defect from that, which we discovered and reported to CCP. CCP released this devblog explaining things. From what I was told from CCP they have fixed it and will deploy it tomorrow. |

Note: To those who have the auto-updater disabled, please re-enable it, in order to trigger the EVEMon update. Compatible with: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10. I receive an error message stating that this webpage is not available when i clicfk the link or go to the website and attempt to download. I have tried FireFox and IE. Is the link/web address still accurate? It's a CCP warning and you should read what it says. |

Aneska Crendraven wrote:New player, just installed Evemon. Input the API information, did the import. I have two characters, both pics with their names come up in Evemon. When I click on one of them it opens to a generic page - there is no data other than the picture and character name being imported.
I have verified the API and it's setup, and uninstalled and reinstalled Evemon.
Suggestions?
I was able to add tabs that do include information from my character, however the tabs for skills information, skills queue, employment history information, and contact information all say that the information is not available. I can see all of the transactions I've made since I started the game, all of the emails I've received, but not my skills.
Solved the problem. Ensure that your API key access mask is not zero.

Is this a known issue or should I submit a bug-report? Click on the 'magnifying glass' of the notification for more info. Alternatively use the built-in API Tester tool to ensure that you can access the API server. If not, check your Internet Options settings or most likely your Internet security software is blocking the traffic.

Try to browse to https://api.eveonline.com/server/serverstatus.xml.aspx from your IE browser (why IE? because EVEMon uses the built-in connection to connect to the internet). If you don't get a response it's either your Internet settings, your AV software or your ISP. It shouldn't be anything on CCP's side as you are the only one reporting this issue. |

Though EVEMon still loves to alternate between completely normal and timing out. I guess I just have to live with this. OK there is another thing that you can do. When you click the "magnifying glass" in the window that pops up there is an option to increase the timeout. The default is 20 seconds but there are options to upper the value. I think the max is 1 minute. |

First, I would like to apologize for not providing any support these last days.
As you may have heard I'm retiring from EVE and EVEMon tomorrow, so I was in the process of finding the next EVEMon lead dev and preparing things for the transition.
That said, Blitz Bandis will be the next EVEMon lead dev.
There will be no more support from me for EVEMon from this thread. Probably Blitz will create a new thread to announce new releases and support you guys. So be a little patients until Blitz gets familiar with the EVEMon ecosystem.
That's all from me ppl. Thanks for all the fish.
Keep Calm and take care in RL.
Desmont McCallock signing off.
